Shikwa Tera Main Gaoon ..शिकवा तेरा मैं गांव दिल में सामने वाले, LATA MANGESHKAR TALAT MAHMOOD ..Dilip Kumar Madhubala

शिकवा तेरा मैं गांव दिल में Shikwa Tera Main Gaaoon Movie/album: Anmol Ratan (1950) Singers: Lata Mangeshkar, Talat Mahmood Song Lyricists: Deena Nath Madhok (D. N. Madhok) Music Director: Vinod ONE of the most talented music directors that Punjab has produced was Vinod. His real name was Eric Roberts but for the film industry he chose a more familiar name Vinod. he was very creative, who produced some of the most soul stirring tunes, but he never got what he deserved in life and in death. He had obtained lessons in composing film music from Late Pandit Amar Nath, had studied to the music of Master Inayat Hussain and learnt as to how Ghulam Haider was composing the preludes and interludes for his tunes. Lata Mangeshkar was a new find, looking for work and Vinod gave her three songs to sing. Incidentally Lata's all three numbers became landmark songs not only for this film, but for other Punjabi films to follow. Those were the days of extreme communal tension on both sides of the Radcliffe line in Punjab , as a consequence after its release the film did not do well in Pakistani Punjab. But the selling of its music even in Pakistan did quite a decent business. By 1946, he had started composing music for a number of films, including three Hindi films and a Punjabi film Chaman. However, Chaman could not be taken up due to communal tension in Lahore. It was made in India after 1947 for which Pushpa Hans and Shamshad Begum lent their voices. Vinod gave Lata Mangeshkar three songs to sing. All three numbers became landmark songs. Those were the days of tension on both sides of the Radcliffe line. While the film did not do well in Pakistan, the music of the film did a decent business. The lovers of Punjab and Punjabi language, bow their heads before Vinod for all the great musical compositions he has given to his mother-tongue. Vinod started composing songs for films in 1946. He composed music for the 1949 film Ek Thi Ladki, which, along with the song Larra Lappa Larra Lappa Layi Rakhda, Addi Tappa Addi Tappa Layi Rakhda became successful.[3] He moved to Bombay when Roop Kumar Shorey, a producer for whom Vinod had previously composed songs, brought his team there. Vinod composed music for 36 films, viz. 30 in Hindi and 6 in Punjabi language. LATA MANGESHKAR - dheere dheere aa re badal -धीरे धीरे आ रे बादल = Madhubala - A tribute to Amir Bai Karnatki

( LYRICS WITH TRANSLATION)"They are trapped in a deserted place on a stormy and thunderous night. She is requesting the clouds to come and go slowly and quietly without any noise, so her Love could sleep peacefully”. Lata ji with her melodious voice has given a new life to the song through Shraddhanjali ( A Tribute to Great Singers) to Amir Bai Karnaki. There are good videos on the original songs, this video is with my favourite couple Madubala and Dilip Kumar on Lata ji’s redition. The Original song was sung by Amir Bai Karnatki and Arum Kumar in the movie “Kismat” (1943) for Mumtaz Shanti and Ashok Kumar. This gem was written by kavi Pradeep and composed by Anil Biswas. “Kismat” (1943) was a landmark movie in the annals of Hindi cinema. This was the first multi starrer movie in the Hindi film industry. Its songs were hugely popular, and remain so to this day. (Aa Re BADAL ...  O! CLOUDS)

Dheere Dheere.. Aa Re!

Come very calmly

Dheere Dheere.. Aa Re!

O! Clouds come calmly and noiselessly

Badal Dheere Ddheere Jaa!

O! Cloud, go softly

Mera Bulbul so Raha Hai!

My Love is sleeping

Shor o Gul na Macha!
Do not make noise and clatter

Dheere Dheere.. Aa Re!

Mera Bulbul so Raha Hai!

My love is sleeping,

Bund Kar Pankhain!

with his wings closed

Neind MaiN Dubi Hui HaiN Sharbati AnkhaiN!

His brown eyes are drenched in sleep

Ja Tujey Meri Qasam!

I put you under my oath to go

Meri Qasam Hai Jaa!

My oath asks you to go

Mera  Bulbul so Raha Hai!

My love is sleeping

Dheere Dheere.. Aa Re!

Tere bin soone nain hamare - RAFI LATA Duet - Mudhubala - Dilip Kumar

(LYRICS, TRANSLATION, VIDEO) It is one of the best duets of Bollywood created by one of the greatest composers of Bollywood ... S. D. Burman.  Shailendra ji lyrics are so engrossing, and the legendary singers Rafi sahib and sarswati Lata ji have put their souls into this fabulous song for the movie Teri Surat Meri Ankhain.
I created this video for the short movie "Madhubala and Dilip Kumar- A LOVE STORY". On insistence my friends, I am releasing it separately also.

The story in the video goes like this:

"He came to visit a scenic valley, and saw a beautiful and innocent girl sitting on the bank of a water channel. He fell into her love on the first sight. Failing to find her and overwhelmed by her love, he started singing songs day and night longing for her. Overhearing such heart-rending songs, even without seeing, she developed a compassion for him and asked to reveal himself."

The lyrics of the song with possible meanings are:

tere bin suney nayan hamarey
(Without You, my eyes are blank!)

baat takat gaye saanj sakaarey

(I have lost my evenings and mornings waiting endlessly for you!)

raat jo aaye dhal jaaye pyasi
(The night comes and goes leaving me yearning for you!)

din kaa hai dujaa naam udasi

(My day can be called as a gloomy day!)

nindiya naa aaye, ab mere dawaarey

(The Sleep does not come to my eyes!)

o andekhey, o anajaney
(O Unseen, O un-known!)

chhup ke naa gaa yeh prem taraney

(Do not sing such Love-songs in hiding!)

kaun hai tu mohey, kuchh to bataa re

(Who are You, let me know at least something about you!)

aye chand chup na jana - LATA MANGESHKAR - Madhubala - A tribute to Kanan Devi

(LYRICS, TRANSLATION & VIDEO) Lata Ji has rendered a great contribution to the hindi music by singing old, rare and forgotten songs as Shraddhanjali, a tribute to old great singers. She has revived the interest of new generation in these songs. It is a priceless gift to Hindi music lovers. Kannan Devi Ji in movie Jawab (1942) sang it so beautifully and Lata Ji in her rendition has enhanced its charm.

Mr. Kamal Dasgupta, the creator of "Chupke Chupke Bol Mena, Aye chand chhup na jana, Tasweer teri dil mera, Yeh chand nahi teri arsi hai, Tum bhulay na gaye" has created this marvel. He brought up many talents like Kumari Juthika Roy, Jagmohan, Talat Mehmood, Hemant Kumar... Jagmohan was later on awarded title of "Sursagar".

Pt. Madhur has written this beautiful and subtle poetry.

I have tried to augment the delight of this melody by portraying enchanting Madhubala and Dilip Kumar on the video.

"The poetry describes the feelings of a girl who falls in love with a stranger who came to her house. She requests the MOON not to set, so that the stranger may continue sleeping and stays longer"

LYRICS WITH POSSIBLE TRANSLATION:

chhup naa jaanaa

(do not go into hiding

aye chaand chhup naa jaanaa

(O moon! do not go into hidding,

jab tak maiN geet gaauN

till I am singing the song!)
ye saaz zindagi kaa, ji bhar ke maiN bajaauN
(and played the music of  the life to my satisfaction)

aye chaand chhup naa jaanaa...................................

uRtaa huaa ye panchhi, bhooley se idhar aayaa

(This stray bird came flying and landed at my place by mistake,
anjaan ke iss ghar ko, apnaa hai ghar banaayaa
and has made this stranger's home his abode!)

yeh sukh ke neend soye

(let him sleep in peace,
maiN khwaab ban ke aauN
I want to appear in his dream)

aye chaand chhup naa jaanaa...............

kaisi adaa thi jis pe, aankheiN huyi deewaani

(I do not comprehend the expression, which made my eyes mad,
yeh dil dimaag duniyaa, sab ban gaye kahaani
my heart, my mind, this world, all have become story of the past)

ik raat kaa ye qissaa

(The story of this night,
maiN umr bhar sunaauN
I will narrate it whole of my life)

aye chaand chhup naa jaanaa.............

ae soney waley sona, jab tak ji chahe sona,

(O sleeping person! sleep as much as like,
kal din ki roshni meiN, iss raat ka gham dhoona,
tomorrow in the day light, you may forget the worries of this night,
taiyar ho safar ko, tujh ko maiN rah dekhaoN,
(In the morning, please) get ready for your journey and I will show you the way

ae chaand chhup naa jaanaa...................

Tumhain dekhti hoon - LATA MANGESHKAR - Madhubala's most fascinating moments

(LYRICS, TRANSLATION & VIDEO) Madhubala's gestures were so fascinating and adorable; no Bollywood actress could reach that level.

The amazing Lyrics of this remarkable song by Naqsh Lyalpuri, a marvelous composition by Jaidev and the  innocent beauty of Madhubala complement each other and are all at the pinnacle.

The Lyrics with possible Translation are:

Tumhain dekthi hoon to lagta hai aisey

(Whenever I see you, I feel that.....
Keh jaisey yugooN se tumhaiN jaanti hooN
I know you through ages !)
Agar tum ho sagar,.... maiN pyasi nadi hooN
(If you are a sea......I am a thirsty-stream)
Agar tum ho sawan, .... main jalti kali hooN
(If you are rainy-season ... I am a burning bud !)

Piya tum ho sagar

Mujhey meri neendaiN, mera chen de do

(Please return me my sleep, give me my peace-----
Mujhey merey sapnooN ki ek raiyn de do na
please grant me one dreamful- night !)
Yehi baat pehley bhi tum se kahi thi
(I have requested you before also---
Wohi baat phir aaj dohra rahi hoon
I am again repeating the same today !)

Piya tum ho sagar

Tumhain chhoo ke pal meiN baney dhool chandan

(If the dust touches you, it will turn into sandal, right away
Tumhari mehek se mehekaney lage tann
with your aroma, my whole body smells very sweet !)
Mere paas aao, galey se lagao
(Please come close and embrace me-----
Piya aur tumse maiN kya chahh'ti hooN
My Love! I do not desire anything more than that !)

Muraliya samajh kar mujhe tum utha lo

(Please pick me up, considering me as your flute---
Bas ek baar hontooN se apney laga lo na
And put it on your lips, at least once !)
Koi sur to jaage,---- meri dhadkano mein
so that some note may resonate with my heart beat !)

Keh main apni sargam se ruthi hui hooN

Because I am at spar with my melody !)
